In Memory of Hélène Mombourquette

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Hélène Mombourquette (nee Tittley) on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at the age of 65 years at the Ottawa General Hospital, following complications after a very recent cancer diagnosis.

She is survived by her adoring husband Paul, of 34 years, and her beloved son Mathieu (Samantha). She also leaves to mourn her siblings Bob (Céline), Luc, Céline and Michelle (Michel) and her brothers and sisters in law Tim (Jenny), Danny, Cynthia and Robin, as well as her many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Hélène is predeceased by her parents Marcel and Cécile (nee Montion) Tittley, and brothers Denis and Gilles, as well as her in-laws Paul and Terry Mombourquette.

Hélène will be remembered for her devotion to her many friends, notably the Fab 5. Hélène was a highly respected Labour Relations expert and spent 36 years in the Public Service before retiring in 2011, followed by another 10 years as a consultant. She was generous with her time and knowledge and will be remembered by many colleagues. Hélène enjoyed playing golf, reading, listening to music, as well as travelling with her family and friends. In addition to being an excellent mother and wife, she adored cooking, tending to her many flowers and plants, and caring for her four legged princess Maggie. Hélène lived life to its absolute fullest. Renowned for her fashion sense, she brightened everyone’s day with her contagious smile, and her positive outlook on life. She will be remembered for her endless kindness and generosity towards others. She will forever be in our hearts and memories.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses who cared for Hélène at the Heart Institute and the Ottawa General Hospital, in particular Dr. G.A. Nicholas and the oncology team, for the outstanding medical care and compassion. A special thank you to the Ottawa Fire Department, our extended family, for their kindness, generosity and support during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd., Orléans, on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Celebration of Hélène’s life will follow in the Heritage Chapel at 11 a.m.

In memory of Hélène donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).

Condolences

Michelle and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already. Hélène was a beautiful soul, and lively, brilliant woman. I always enjoyed seeing her at family gatherings and having a chance to talk with her. Such a huge loss. Love to all of you.

Paul, Matt, Sam and family,

I think of Helene frequently, that is impact she had on people.
I keep the fondest memories of time spent together down south, at Jenny and Tim’s, laughing and enjoy the present company.
My warmest thoughts go out to you all as you celebrate a unic, beautiful , loving lady
Amicalement
Monique

All my sympathies for your loss to Paul, Mathieu, Luc, Celine, Robert, and MIchelle and the extended family. I remember Helene as an incredible person, always so positive, warm and had definitely a contagious smile; Sooo kind and very fashionable.
I will not be able to attend in person the service; my work is high risk for COVID -I will join the ceremony virtually and I really appreciate the availability of this option
I would like to extend warm thoughts and priers to the family

Dear sweet Paul
I am so very sorry to hear about your darling Helene’s passing. Tim and I often remarked how YOU two were such a wonderful Force together. I hope you eventually find a peace and serenity that Helene would want you to have. I will always miss Tim but I rejoice that he would be happy for me finding the Joy in each day. His memory gives me both comfort and strength. My wish is that you find the same comfort. You are so special, Paul. Tim thought so too. Helene continues to live through YOU always. Most Sincerely, Grits xo
