In Memory of Ginette Plante

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ginette Plante on Saturday, May 18th, 2019, at the Élizabeth Bruyère Hospital. Ginette passed away at the young age of 52, following a 19-month courageous battle with cancer.

Ginette was a devoted wife of her husband, Martin Plante, and a loving mother to her three children, Luc, Pierre and Martine.

Ginette is also survived by her sisters Madelaine, Lise, Nicole and Rita, as well as her brothers Mario, Denis, Michel, Paul and André.

Ginette will be remembered fondly by her extended family and countless dear friends as a caring and loving person, and the social butterfly that she was. She would always put other’s needs before her own and was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Ginette always had a beautiful smile that lit up a room and she knew how to make everyone laugh and have a good time.

Ginette was a hard worker with a zest for life. Her happy place was spending time with family and friends, reading a book, cooking up a storm, making and sharing her famous sangria recipe, and she’d never miss an opportunity to dance until her feet hurt.

Her presence and her friendship are embedded in many hearts, and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the General Hospital Cancer Centre and the palliative care at Élizabeth Bruyère Hospital for taking such great care of Ginette during this difficult time.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society at: http://www.cancer.ca/en/donate/?region=nb
