In Memory of Gilbert “Bill” Beliveau

It is with great sadness that the family of Gilbert Beliveau “Bill” announce that he has passed away peacefully on April 22, 2020, at the age of 75 years with his family by his side.

Loving husband of 53 years with Colleen (nee Lannin). Proud father of Cindy (Don Gravelle) and Greg (Genevieve McCraw). Amazing Papa to his four grandchildren Caitlyn, Gavin, Devin and Erin. Son of Lucien and Gabrielle (deceased). Dear brother to Nicole, Gaston (deceased), Michel (deceased), René, Simonne and Jean Paul (deceased). Dear brother-in-law to Bobby (Lise), Earl (Anne), Betty, Dale (Jimmy) and Wayne (Nicole). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, his family moved to Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, Québec, where he met Colleen at the age of 14. He married his soul mate in 1966 and started a family in Shannon, Québec, while proudly starting his career with the Sûreté du Québec Police force. With an adventurous spirit in 1978 he transferred to Aylmer, Québec where he continued his career and helped raise his family.

Upon retirement, he and Colleen moved to Orleans, Ontario, and spent many winters in Florida and summers at the cottage in Eganville, Ontario. Bill lived a full, happy and adventurous life. He loved his family, his countless friends, being out on the lake on his pontoon boat, fishing, golfing and bowling.

Bill was a cancer survivor, who always had a positive attitude, was very patient and would always be the first person to help. There was no project too big or small that his simple skill saw couldn’t handle.

He will be missed by many.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be planned for a later date.
