In Memory of Doris Schultes
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Doris Schultes at the age of 92. Doris Schultes was born September 7, 1930 in Stuttgart, Germany and passed away peacefully at Sante Montfort hospital in Ottawa at 630 a.m. on October 3, 2022. Doris immigrated to Canada in the 1950’s arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and found herself being whisked away to Scarborough Ontario. Doris was always a very hard working person who built a warm loving home for her family while working as a book keeper for her brother.
Throughout her life she always enjoyed being out among other people and involved in her community and church. As a founding member of the Lutheran Epiphany Church she took her faith seriously and devoted herself to her congregation for over 65 years.
Being the adventurous women that she was, travel had always been one of her greatest joys and lead to her traveling across the United States, throughout Europe and all the way to South Africa to visit her only son. Doris always cherished her friends and family, never hesitating to drop everything to help those in need. As a cancer survivor Doris was no stranger to pain in life and even with all the pain she felt later in life she still found the joy in everyday life.
Today Doris is survived by her only son Klaus and her loving grandchildren Julian (Farzaneh) and Justine (Ethan). She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and those lucky enough to have shared a moment with her.
