In Memory of Dianne Webb

Born into the hardships of post-World War Two Cardiff, Dianne Carole Webb understood the value of kindness and generosity as only those who have experienced adversity can. She also developed a keen sense of determination that was essential to her life’s many accomplishments.

As a young mother, Dianne emigrated to Canada in pursuit of better opportunities for herself and her children. She earned her CGA accounting designation, raised three children and spent several decades using her accounting skills to help charity organizations ensure they had the financial foundation necessary to do their important work in Canada and around the world.

It was her determination that helped her beat cancer twice in 2011 and 2013. After her third cancer diagnosis in July of 2022, Dianne chose to spend her last months with the people most important to her, her family. Dianne left this world a better place than she found it on January 14th, 2023 at the age of 76.

She is remembered by her children: Alexander Anderson (Jeanine), Suzanne (nee Anderson) Le(Tuan) and Pauline Anderson (Robert); her grandchildren: Athena, Brandon, Graeme, Abigael, Jacob, Sabrina, Chloe, Kyle and Shane; and her brother Barrie Webb.

Services will be held at Dale’s Cemetery in Cumberland on May 5th at 1:30 p.m.

As Dianne was very active in dog rescue in her lifetime, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to:

Dear Suzanne, Tuan and children:

Faith joins me in expressing our sincere condolences at this time and holding you all in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Do take care of yourself during this difficult period.
Sincerely

Hugh and Faith

Dianne was well known for helping out in NGOs such as immigrant serving agencies. I was very impressed with Dianne’s compassion, patience and expertise in finance when she worked for Catholic Center for Immigrants. Her children were raised to follow her wishes and that is why I am fortunate enough to get the services of her daughter Pauline and son-in-law Tuan as auditor for the Ottawa Chinese Services Center for many years. Now I got to know Suzanne who does incredible work with the Chinese Catholic Church.

We will miss her and on behalf of OCCSC I would like to send our condolence to her family.

I admire the strength of my aunt, Diane. I hope now that she is reunited with Nanny and Auntie Elaine. Sleep well Auntie. Love Stacy xxxx

Dianne was my beloved sister, our mother, father and I always called her Carol which was her middle name because Carol seemed a softer name for a small girl then she grew up and became Dianne.

As children each summer we were sent to Cardiff to stay with grandparents and Aunt Elaine and her husband Bert . I remember playing in the bomb craters and air raid shelters – they were good times. We were very close as children and remained close even though we ended up thousands of miles apart.

She has left three children who she nurtured and prioritized their lives over everything and we are so proud of them today. Carol was so strong and so clever she could have been anything she wanted but chose to be a loving mother and grandmother to nine grandchildren

Carol always loved animals and was devoted to her pets as they were to her, she passed that quality on to her children.

Our mother loved Carol and the children deeply and was never happier than when she was with them, sadly she died under similar circumstances and Carol came to the UK to help Elaine and I through this traumatic period.

Alex, Suzanne and Pauline I can’t thank you enough for looking after your mother so well, I know what it was like and I wish I could have been more help.

Carol was very close to our Aunt Elaine and was a pillar of strength when she passed away.

I am of course very upset, she was always there and when I think about things still is and always will be.

Love to you Carol and all the family xxx

Barrie David Webb

Heartfelt condolences to Suzanne, Alex and your immediate and extended families on the loss of your Mum. Although I never met her, I certainly heard about her compassion and her determination, qualities she clearly passed on to her children. What a huge loss for you all, and what tragic circumstances for that last period of her life. She must have taken so much comfort being surrounded by the love and devotion of her family as she battled cancer. Mike & Kathy

Dianne worked as a risk analysis accountant at CIDA in the 1990’s and I had the pleasure of working with her on a couple of difficult cases. She impressed me with the thorough approach she took to her work and her consideration of the colleagues. My sympathies to her family. May she rest in peace.
