In Memory of Denis Houle
At the much too young age of 66, Denis Alphonse Houle passed away in his home in Orléans on June 5th, 2019. When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones who comforted him as he made his transition to what he called “something that is beautiful, we just don’t understand”. He is lovingly remembered by his family, of whom, are thankful for his sacrifices and his love to his family – which he showed up to his dying moments.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years; Elisabeth, his daughter, Diane (Craig), his son, Michael (Annique), his grandson, Steven (Neyri), his brothers Yvon (Suzanne), and Alain (Chantal), his sisters Adrienne (Pierre), Nicole (Claude) and Lucie (Maurice). He will also be missed by family and the countless friends he has made along the way in his adventures.
In passing he is reunited with his father, Jean-Baptise; his mother, Florence; his sister Suzanne and his best friend Claude. He is reunited as well, to those friends and family along the way who have been waiting for him to guide him to his next adventure.
In lieu of flowers we ask that the money is put towards donations for the cancer society. We also wish to place a deep emphasis on donating to palliative care services to provide them with more IV pumps – there is currently a large shortage and this helped ease Denis’ pain in his final days.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Ottawa (Orléans), ON, on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be hosting a “Celebration of Life” in that there will be no church service (by request of Denis) but encourage friends and family to share their stories and memories. Denis was many things to many people; a friend, a father, a grandfather, someone to lean on – and he was a storyteller. We wish to continue his legacy by sharing all of our stories, together.
