In Memory of Camille Thomas

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of CAMILLE THOMAS

On February 26, 2020, at the age of 76, in Ottawa, Ontario. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Roberte (née Pinsonneault), and his daughters Francine, Julie (Wayne Richard) and Ginette (Pascal Cantin). He was the beloved grandfather of Élissa, Rémi, Ève, Adèle and Mai. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Thérèse Maisonneuve (Roland 2001) Iroquois Falls, Bernard (Madeleine) Alban, André (Reina) Cochrane, Martial (Yvonne) Clarence Creek, Robert (Kathy) Tecumseh, Ida O’Donnell (Brian) Iroquois Falls, Mariette Thomas (Paul Shuster) Ottawa. He is preceded in death by his parents Ludger Thomas and Noëlla (née Maxwell) from Cochrane, Ontario, his brother Michel from Val-d’Or, Quebec (2014) and his two little angels Alexis and Jacob Cantin. He will also be missed by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Camille began his career as a teacher in Timmins and Windsor, then as a school principal in North Bay, before retiring as the superintendent of education from the Conseil scolaire de district des écoles catholiques du Sud-Ouest. During the last few years, he helped his daughter at Orleans Family Hearing Services.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Heritage Funeral Complex located at 1250 Trim Road, Orleans, Ontario, on Friday, March 6, 2020, at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm followed by a reception. The burial will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center, the palliative care unit at Élisabeth-Bruyère, the Champlain LHIN and particularly Dr. C. Biscay for her devotion to her patient.
