Augustin was married to the late Thérèse Bourdon for sixty-five years. Augustin acquired a strong work ethic from a young age helping his widowed mother and brothers run the farm. He had a long and distinguished career as an air traffic controller in Winnipeg and Montreal which included a year-long secondment in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo) with the International Civil Aviation Organization. Remembered as warm, jovial and curious, Augustin loved discovering new places and cultures and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed good food, the company of family and friends, and the telling of a good story followed by a good laugh.

Memorial donations can be made to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the staff of the Promenade residence in Orleans for the cheerful support and excellent care provided to Augustin.
