In Memory of Armande Poirier
It is with great sadness that the family announce her death at the Elisabeth-Bruyère Centre in Ottawa on December 9, 2019 at the age of 68 years. Daughter of the late Alfred Poirier and the late Irène Poirier (née Lajeunesse). Loving spouse of Sylvio Lavictoire. Predeceased by her sister Huguette Rousseau, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters Colette (the late Laurier Rousseau) of Verner, Carmen (André Carbonneau), Anita, both from Ottawa and her brother Normand from Sudbury. Loving aunt of Nathalie Bigras and Martin Poirier as well as their children. Her death will leave a great void for those who had the honor and privilege of having her in their lives. Armande spent her career in childhood education. She worked as Director for le Centre Éducatif Beausoleil for the City of Ottawa, as Director and Educator for the Jardinière Tournesol for the City of Ottawa and Educator for the Lower Town Child Centre for the Municipality of Ottawa/Carleton. A celebration for her will be held at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim rd., Orléans on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
According to Armande’s wishes, a mass of Christian burial will be held at the Notre Dame de la Visitation church, Lavigne, Ontario at a future date.
