In Memory of Alfreda Celeste Anthony

Passed away peacefully on Saturday September 16, 2017, in her 76 year after a battle with lung cancer. Survived and dearly missed by daughters Michelle Poirier, Jaye (Jeremy) Poirier, and grandchildren Rhiannon Poirier and Ashton and Benjamin Heaps. She is also survived by her beloved sister Norma Postlethwaite (Jim). Predeceased by siblings Lyle, Ross and Gord Anthony, Frances Burton (Bill). Freda also leaves family in Sydney, Cape Breton who remember her fondly including nieces and nephews Dawn and Gordon Burton (Ann), Marie Murrin (Dana), Bob (Kim), Blaine (Debbie) and Brian Anthony, Kevin (Sharon), Raylene (Lowell), Sheldon (Mabel). Predeceased by Bradley (Sandra) and Richard Postlethwaite. Freda was born in Sydney Cape Breton to Frank Anthony and Grace Hardy in 1941. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in Ottawa on Sunday, October 1 at the Heritage Funeral Complex on Trim Rd from 3-5 pm. A separate celebration of life will follow in Sydney at a later date next Spring. The family are extremely grateful to the team of palliative care Doctors that took care of Freda and all of the nurses and volunteers at the May Court Hospice.
