In Memory of Malcolm David Adélard Gauthier

Malcolm David Adélard Gauthier passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the age of 34, surrounded by his loving family.

Malcolm is survived by his parents Stephanie Chester and Mario Gauthier (Oleekie Etungat), sister Madelyn Gauthier, grandmothers Florence Lambert (late David Chester, late Thomas White) and Fleurette Plouffe (late Adélard Gauthier).

Malcolm leaves behind many loving aunts and uncles. On his mother’s side, aunt and godmother Melissa Chester. On his father’s side, Jocelyne, Jacques (Pauline Desjardins), Danielle (Daniel Turgeon), Nicole, André, Jean-Paul (Debbie Phillips), Charles, Pierre (Lucie Tessier), Christiane and Julie (Mathew Labranche). He is also survived by his godfather Stephane Sbardella, dear friend and “aunt” Stacey Mandigo and his beloved cat, Catface Extravaganza.

Malcolm will be missed by his many cousins and his large extended family across Canada and internationally.

The family would like to thank Malcolm’s many loyal friends for their love and support.

Malcolm, aka Cormz Tha Cancerous, had a lifelong passion for music and was a connoisseur of all things hip hop. He was a talented lyricist who spent much of his life creating music and perfecting his craft in his original style.

Malcolm collaborated with his fellow artists in musical groups including “Black Market Underground” and “Fine Young Gentlemen”. He performed at Ritual and Babylon Night Club in Ottawa as well as other venues. He will be missed by the rap battle community, including Ottawa’s Capital Rap Battles, Beastmode Battles and King of the Dot Entertainment of Toronto. His family and friends found great joy and entertainment in watching his battles.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Montfort Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit for their amazing work as well as the staff at Serenity House for their unwavering compassion and care.

Malcolm will be remembered for his music, his quick-witted sense of humour, his heart of gold and the loyalty he demonstrated to his friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Words of remembrance will be said at 10:30 a.m.
