A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Wilfred Wunderlich
Wilfred Wunderlich was born in Berlin in 1936. His family moved to Westphalia where he finished his schooling. He emigrated to Canada in the nineteen sixties. He had a good career of 27 years at IBM in Toronto (ON) and in Bromont (QC), from which he retired. During his early retirement he worked as an extra in movies and TV series. He lived in Ottawa for his last 15 years until a bilateral pneumonia (not covid related) took him away.
It is with great sorrows that he leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Suzanne Fortier, who was fortunate to be by his side in his last moments. Sadness is also felt by is mother and brother in law, Fernande Fortier († Jean-Maurice) and Jean-Marc Fortier (Donal). Grief is also felt in Germany by his sister, brother in law, niece and nephews: Brigitte & Klaus Tautz, Sandra, Oliver and Daniel. He will be missed as well by the many friends that he made along the way.
He will be remembered for the sparkling in his blue eyes, his good laugh, his strong opinions, his fun ways with words and expressions, his easy way to make contact, and his overall enjoyment of life.
To his wife he was the best companion and friend, romantic and with many shared common interest such as: love of classical music and operettas, cats & dogs, horseback riding, cycling and hiking. He cherished his British car roadster, a TR3 and a Lotus Super 7, and fast European cars.
To his memory, donation can be made to the Ottawa Humane Society.
