A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Richard Bernard Brigden
On Sunday January 16th, 2022 Richard Brigden of Ottawa, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 74.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by: his wife Debbi of 49 years, his son Michael and his daughter Stephanie, and brother Paul Brigden. Predeceased by his mother Flore (Lemay), father Harry and brother Robert. Cherished by his grandchildren Alyssa, Noah and Avery. Richard will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
Richard was born in Montreal, Quebec and he proudly received a B.Comm from the University of Ottawa. He received a Master’s Degree from the University of Saskatchewan and then spent 32 years faithfully serving our Federal Government in increasing responsibility within Public Works. Like most government employees, he wanted to give back to his community and he dedicated himself to bettering the lives of children at hockey rinks, first as a trainer, then a coach. Volunteering first with hockey in Orleans, then rising with increasing roles to Chairman of the Ottawa Capitals. Richard was also part owner of the Gloucester Rangers Jr. Team before moving into retirement. Richard enjoyed his time helping others, constantly learning, being patient, teaching finance and most of all loving his family & friends.
A private service will be held at the family’s request.
