A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Mario Robert Gauthier

Mario Robert Gauthier passed away unexpectedly at home on January 10, 2024, at the age of 57.

Mario was an interesting and adventurous man who lived and worked all over Canada. He was an unassuming man who made friends wherever he went. The tattoos in which he was covered were collected over his North American travels, with his lifetime friend, Stephane Sbardella.

Mario was a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan and enjoyed a good hockey fight. He collected reptiles and, over the years, cared for many creatures, including a Caiman Alligator and a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. He enjoyed trying new kinds of food and had a special love for seafood.

Mario was the proud father of the late Malcolm and Madelyn Gauthier. He leaves behind his loyal partner, Oleekie Etungat. He is predeceased by his parents, Fleurette and Adélard Gauthier. Mario was one of twelve siblings: Jocelyne (Gerry Beauvais), Jacques (Pauline Desjardins), Danielle (Daniel Turgeon), (late) Estelle, Nicole, André, Jean-Paul (late Debbie Phillips), Charles, Pierre (Lucie Tessier), Christiane and Julie (Mathew Labranche). Mario leaves his loved ones with many happy memories. He will be deeply missed by his large extended family and countless friends.

A private celebration of life will take place in March. In memory of Mario, please consider a donation to the Ottawa Mission.

Condoléances

This is a beautiful and touching summary of Mario’s life. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to know Mario better, but this helps to build a better picture of how interesting, friendly, open, and adventurous he was. My sincere condolences.

Here’s one…… I remember way back when we all had long hair………
Mario decided to put a popular and fun illegal substance in his eye…….. a microdot of some colour…….. those who were there would know.
He thought he went blind and we couldn’t stop laughing…….. it was fun in those days and Mario’s sense of humour and fun always came through……..pretty sure his BFF was there too………
Condolences to family and friends during this time……..
Paranoid Pete.
