A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Lorraine Prieur

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorraine Prieur (nee Cook), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 26th, 2022 at the age of 80.

Born in Almonte and raised in Ottawa with her five cherished sisters, she was a stay-at-home mom to her two boys for many years before joining the Canadian Bar Association, where she proudly worked for 26 years before settling into retirement. A lifelong Elvis superfan, she was a proud member of the Elvis Sighting Society. In addition to her warmth, Lorraine was known for her sense of humour, love of her dogs, and zest for life.

She was the beloved wife of 60 years to her devoted husband Robert (Bob), cherished mother of Scott (Mireille Pelletier) and Mark (Katie Lewis-Prieur) and proud grandmother to Emilie, Justin, William, Cole and Ethan. Dear sister of Rita Flood (John), Dianne Jackson, and Alice Cook. Loving sister in-law of Paul (Monique), Nicole, Lucie and Claude. Predeceased by her parents William and Margaret Cook, and sisters Donna Gibeault and Shirley Pearson.  All of us, including her many godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will treasure our fond memories of her.

“Love me tender, love me sweet, never let me go. You have made my life complete, and I love you so.”

A private funeral service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
