A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Laurence Lamarre

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of our mother, wife, sister and grandmother, Laurence Lamarre, on Monday, January 24th  2022, at age 71 years.

Loving wife of 49 years to Lucien ; mother to Stephane (Olivia) ; grandmother to Chloe Rose (Diego), Amy, Sebastien, Dan Potvin (Dani) and Jamie ; great-grandmother to Amaya, Amiel, Jackson and Skye. Loving sister to Murielle Carrière (Claude), Doris Carrière, Gérald (Rachelle), Donald (Karen), Bernard, Rénald, John (Christine) and Richard (Mandy), and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Laurie retired from the federal government in 2008, but she always found new hobbies to keep her busy. She discovered passions in woodworking, gardening, do it yourself home projects, jewellery making, volunteering at the Ottawa Senators and Ottawa 67’s games, and loved cooking and trying new recipes, all while taking good care of her husband Lucien. We hope that she is now at peace and reunited with her parents in heaven.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd., Orléans, on Sunday, February 6th, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will follow in the Heritage Chapel at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Ottawa Chapter.

A celebration of life will be held later in the year once COVID restrictions have lifted, in place of a reception after the service.

Condoléance

My heartfelt condolences to all family and friends of my « Little Sister » Laurie. She always laughed when I called her that (she’s older but much shorter).
She always loved sharing fond stories of her family and she genuinely wanted to hear your stories. You could see the passion in her eyes when she talked about her family.
She was a kindhearted, good-natured and compassionate which made her easy to talk to.
She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.
