A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Joann Blanchfield

Joann Gertrude Blanchfield (Blakeney), died on June 7, 2021 at age 79 at Montfort Hospital of heart failure.

She was married for 57 years to her loving husband Peter Blanchfield.

Mother of Michael (Kathy), and Steven (Brenda), and angel-child Kevin, predeceased in 1975. Grandmother to Rori, Clara and Edie. Sister to Dorothy, Ruth (Richard), and predeceased by Muriel (Ronald), sister-in-law to David. Aunt to Debbie, Kim, Kenneth, Danielle, Martin and Roxanne.

Joann was born in Hull, Quebec and raised in Vankleek Hill, Ont. She was raised by her mother, Beatrice while her father, Emmanuel, served in World War II. Joann worked alongside Peter in their family business, active at work until shortly before the end. A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on June 26, by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions. A celebration of Joann’s life will be held in the future.
