Passed away, peacefully, on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late David George Mackie. Loving mother of Jeff (Linda), Jim (Pat), Jan (John) and Jo-Anne. Cherished grandmother of Josh, Erin, Erika, Colin, Jay, Stewart, Isaac, Neil, Holly, David, Leigh and of 20 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by many nephews, nieces and friends. Joan’s life was devoted to her family and her legacy will continue in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Madonna Care Community for their care and kindness to our mother. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society.
