À LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Claude Girard

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Claude who left us peacefully on December 30, 2024 at the age of 91 years of age, surrounded by his loving family. Claude was a devoted husband , father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, and joyful spirit.

He leaves behind in sadness his wife of 53 years Pauline, his daughter Claudette (Dale) , his grandson Alexandre (Kristina), great granddaughter (Annabelle), great grandsons Liam and Cohen.

His brothers Robert and Guy, sisters in law, brothers in law, and many nieces and nephews and many friends.

Claude was known for his remarkable zest for life and his love of golf and bowling. Claude spent many mornings on the greens at Casselview golf course, relishing the challenge of the game and the opportunity to bond with fellow enthusiasts.

Above all, Claude was a family man. His love for his wife, daughter, grandson and great grandchildren was boundless and he took great pride in watching his family grow. He leaves a legacy of love, laughter and lasting memories that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

His presence will be greatly missed but his spirit will live in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

We would like to say thank you to the Jardin Royal to the care they have provided to Claude, as well as the Ottawa Civic Hospital emergency room staff.

A Committal Service will be held at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street, Ottawa on Friday, January 24th at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Condoléances

This man, my Uncle was an amazing man. Kind and gentle with everyone. Loved his family, friends and his fur babies – who loved him back with everything in them. My memory will always be; always when we saw each other he would put both hands on each side of my face and say I have missed you so much, happy to see you and give me a kiss. I am so thankful we drove in to see him and Aunt Pauline this last summer. It will always be my memory of this incredible man. I did not have a chance to say the final goodbye but here it is: I hope this final journey finds you peace, no more pain and greeted by Grandma with open arms » I love you and until we meet again.

I had the privilege of being introduced to Claude and Pauline and their wonderful family many years ago in the late 1970s.. I was welcomed with open arms and in no time felt at home.. My daughter Shannon, and I had so many good
times with them. Claude was an amazing man. He always greeted you with that wonderful smile of his and a bear hug that was close to crushing ribs. Rest in peace, dear friend. Love, Judy and Shannon.

Nos sincères condoléances Pauline , a toi et a toute la famille, nos pensées et prières sont avec vous tous. Un autre ange pour veiller sur vous tous xoxo

Claudette, Pauline and family, my sincere condolences to you in this difficult time. My thoughts are with you and your dear mother. xo
