A LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Carolyn Jean Montgomery

It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Jean Montgomery announce her passing on October 16th, 2022 at the age of 75 years. Carolyn was born on August 8th, 1947 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She has reunited with her late husband of 52 years, Garry Alexander Montgomery and will be lovingly remembered and missed by her three daughters, Karri Rivard, Susan McMahon and Krista Hubbard (Bruce Hubbard). Carolyn (Nanny) will also be adoringly remembered by her nine grandchildren: Karlee, Dustin (Casandra), Jonathan, Kelly, Bradley, Kristina, Megan, William and Noah as well as her two great grandchildren Jack and Jayden. Carolyn is survived by her mother Geraldine Edith Dewar, siblings Linda Jamieson (Brian), John Dewar (Kelly), and Kelly Bursey and has reunited with her late father John Grieves Dewar.

Carolyn received her wings and went on her final journey to reunite with the love of her life. While she was an exceptional mother and partner, becoming a grandmother was her true calling. She was a shining star who never failed to share her wisdom, compassion, advice, and unconditional love with every grandchild.

A private family visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 (rue) Trim Road, Orleans, Ontario, K4A 3P7, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Family and friends are then welcome to join in a Celebration of life and funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Peterborough, Ontario at a later date. Donations in memory of Carolyn Montgomery can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.heritagefh.ca

Condoléances

My sincere condolences to Kari, Susan and Krista along with their families. Carolyn was truly one of the most beautiful, kind and thoughtful souls. She is at peace with Garry and dancing in Heaven. Her legacy will definitely live on with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Blessed to have known her.

My heart and prayers go out to the entire family.
Carolyn, my Canada Mom, was the most amazing soul. She was there through some of the most trying points in my life, her and Papa.
In Karri’s kitchen, listening to Johnny cash, cooking and dancing, singing at the top of our lungs. Or just sitting on the couch watching a movie, she always felt like home and happiness. She had a way of making you feel like whatever it was, you were just going to be ok.
She is with Papa now, and they can dance their way through heaven. Now they will be happy for eternity. Rest easy Canada Mom, we will all be ok knowing you and Papa are watching.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to all of the family. I was given a great honor to meet Carolyn and the family through one of my best friends-her daughter-Karri. I was truly gifted another Family in Canada and was so thankful for so many great memories in life. Last & most recent was seeing everyone again in CA for the baby shower of a new great grandchild, which was just not so long ago this year. It was truly a gift to spend time with her and celebrate so much with the family. She would always check in with me and send me love & support from Canada. I know she will be happy to reunite with Garry for their forever commitment! We will miss you and grateful for every minute of life shared with you! All our love and prayers.

My Canadian Mum – I am going to miss our talks, we would get so close and hold hands. Always excited to talk « shop » – Hospitality of course! We would dream of working together, what we would do and how we would do it! She would always tell me her stories and how she ran her department, I would tell her my challenges and she would always fix them. Our conversations would segway into daily life, her love for her Family and Gary always shined through and her care, excitement and love for mine. I could feel her love and caring through the warmth of her hand, always on me, it would be a synergy through our touch, it’s hard to explain, I am sure, she has touched everyone who has crossed her path in that way, very special, her kindness, love and positivity I am going to surely miss. I pray her heart rest in peace as she is reunited with her love, Gary. A marriage that I admire and remember when Gary was in California without Carolyn for a few months, after, I asked him how he was doing, and he said « I miss my wife » brings me to tears just thinking about it and now I know they are together again. Our Family, sends our deepest condolences, you are all in our thoughts during this difficult time.
