In Memory of Lyall Willard Mulligan

With deep heartache, the family announces the passing of Lyall Willard Mulligan, known to many as “Pappy”, who died peacefully on November 13, 2025 with family at his side. Lyall faced Parkinson’s disease with remarkable strength, resilience, and quiet dignity. Born on October 27, 1936, in Smiths Falls to George and Jean Mulligan, he carried his gentle spirit and steady determination throughout his life.

He married his loving wife, Jo-Anne on October 1, 1966 and together they raised two children, Melodee Anne (Moodie) and Sheri Anne (Jim). Lyall worked at Revenue Canada for over 35 years before retiring in October 1991. He was an avid jogger, and he enjoyed many baseball games and taking his annual family trips to Kitchener for peaches. His quiet passion was cultivating his rose garden. He was a devoted and active grandfather to Andrew (Ryley), Katelanne, Mary Alice, and  Anna Jean. In his later years, he was blessed with eight great-grandchildren whom he cherished: Aurora, Lyla, D. J, Kara, Grahame, Hazel, Rhiannon, and Jack. His kindness, witty humour, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to join us on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Heritage Funeral Home located at 1250 Trim Rd, Orleans. The wake will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m., and a reception. Lyall would wish any donations in his memory to go to Parkinson Canada or Diabetes Canada.
