Martin was born 30 January 1918 at Mackey Station, Ontario, the son of Rose Furlong and William McKenna. Predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2011, Martin will be remembered fondly by his daughter Sharon (Andrew Leach) of Meaford, ON, his son Stephen (Susanne Kuta) of Orleans, his grandchildren Megan Leach (Stephen Christian), Toronto, Kara (McKenna) Taylor (Ian), Orleans, and Sean McKenna (Leslie Vossler), Blairmore, AB, and his two lovely great-granddaughters, Danielle and Emily Taylor. He will also be missed by his best friend Sylvia Hemmings, Alexandra Chiasson, Andrew Chiasson and his nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Gatineau 2 North for the amazing care that they provided for Martin over the past three years. At Martin’s request, there will be no memorial. Donations in Martin’s memory to either The Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
